[Seattleite Diary] Aquarium: Seal Gaze · Melted Stillness

An old memory shared by an old friend!

Oncean Pavilion building, here I am!

※ Ocean Pavilion building was awarded a 2025 FSC Leadership Award!

I was hooked the moment I arrived.

The water outside the Seattle Aquarium shimmered like the ocean, and I was already in love before I even walked in.

a waterfront that opens out to Elliott Bay

wished my camera could hold the moment, but the view in front of me was simply too beautiful to fit in a frame.

My friend and I couldn’t take our eyes off one particular creature—and that was the harbor seal!

We stood there for a long while, completely drawn in . They looked so soft, as if they might melt at the slightest touch.

Hi ~..~

Their spotted skin added this quiet kind of charm—playful but graceful, familiar yet strangely magical. There was something about them that made us feel gentler, calmer, like our hearts had just been wrapped in a warm blanket.

Chubby Grace

I didn’t just watch them—I felt myself quietly falling for them.

My friend’s ideal type had always been someone on the chubbier side, and I never quite understood why.

But watching those harbor seals—so adorably round, soft, and full of an effortless kind of charm—I think I finally got it. There’s a warmth in that softness, a kind of gentle comfort that makes you want to stay a little longer.

Popping out for some sunshine and a breath!

And then—oh my goodness—I stumbled upon the happiest-looking otter couple in the world.
Just look at them. Aren’t they the sweetest thing ever?

what a happy otter couple <3

I couldn’t leave without taking them with me somehow… so yes, I bought their merch at the gift shop. And mSeattle otter magnets are now stuck on the door at home. Like this below :

"We hold hands in our sleep so we never drift apart."

We saw a giant octopus, floating jellyfish, and strange, mesmerizing birds we’d never seen before. +100!

PUFFIN in the water, flying instead of swimming

They even have a jellyfish incubator here.

In the new aquarium, I came across a fish that instantly caught my eye.
Just look at its lips—aren’t they oddly fascinating?

a pretty and unique fish that instantly captured my heart

It was something that usually costs a lot, but since my friend is a local, we got it at a discount. Thank You!
